New year’s eve

New year’s is upon us. Let’s see what 2010 will bring us. 2009 was a very good year in which I got to meet a lot of new people and made the move down from San Diego. Next year should be even better. Me and my friends have prepared for the evening with food, champagne, and beer. See you in the next decennial.

birthday!

Today is my birthday. Im now 23 years old. I feel old. But oh well, a new year will bring new adventures. I will begin my 23rd year by attending something historic! There will be an outdoor hockey game in Gothenburg tonight, with over 30 000 viewers. This will be the largest hockey game in history. Should be fun.

OUF!

Yesterday was christmas day, which for me and my friends means a day of beer, liquor, and food. We started at 3 PM and ate a bunch of Danish food at a Danish friends house. We ate, drank, and had a good time. After that we took a bus to another city and hit the bars. It was a lot of fun since I saw a lot of friends I hadnt seen for many years. It was a great time but I was tired becaus Im still jetlagged. Today I dont feel too well…oh well its my birthday in two days so I have time to recover.

Christmas Eve

I am very jetlagged! Yesterday I woke up at 4 am and today at 4 30. It sucks! Im extremely tired. But today is christmas eve, which in Sweden means a lot of traditions need to be observed. Me and my friends are going to our yearly christmas eve swim, which in the middle of the Swedish winter is not that fun. I wont be swimming this year since I did it last year and got really sick. Instead Ill stay on land and cheer on my friends. The afternoon will be spent with the family mainly eating and then exchanging gift. All and all there will be 22 of us. Tonight should be fun.

Home!

After another year of studying in the US, my third, Im back in Sweden for winter break. Its been a very long flight, and I left LAX over 24 hours ago. Im extremely tired and am just about to go to bed. Its awesome to be home.

Preparing for Sweden

On Monday, I’m going to Sweden. It’s going to be a lot of fun. Not having been home in one year, and it being one of the most amazing years of my life, I do not know what to expect once I get home. I guess I’ll see what happens. But before I’m going on a road trip with a few friends. They’ll drop me off in LA and they’ll keep going all the way up to North-Cal. Should be a lot of fun.

Best films of 2009

A few days ago, the American Film Institute released their list of the ten best movies of 2009. Here is the list:

* Coraline
* The Hangover
* The Hurt Locker
* The Messenger
* Precious
* A Serious Man
* A Single Man
* Sugar
* Up
* Up in the Air
I haven’t seen most of those movies, but I have seen Coraline, The hangover, and Up. The three movies are very good in different ways.

Coraline is very original and looks completely breathtaking. The use clay models in making something so cool in surprising. The story is also very compelling.

The hangover is just a blast. It is non-stop laughing throughout the entire movie. I wouldn’t say it deserves a spot in this list, but it is a hilarious movie.

Up is one of the best films I have ever seen. The animation is incredible, the humor great, and the story so captivating a bunch of people cried in the audience when I saw it.

Now I just need to catch up on the other movies. I have heard great things about a serious man and the hurt locker. I’m very happy winter break has started because I’ll now be able to catch up on movies.

Done for the semester

Relief!
I am done for the semester. Last week was crazy but since I only had one final today left I was able to relax a lot during the weekend. Since I’m an idiot, though, I managed to oversleep for my final. I arrived half an hour late. Fortunately, since I had had a lot of time to study, I was able to complete the final with 15 minutes left on the time. I’m pretty proud of that. The final went well, except for a few questions. This semester went okay not great. I have one B for sure and might have another one. The rest is A’s. I’m a little disappointed, since I usually do a lot better grade-wise, but this is my first semester here at SDSU, and a small decline in grades shouldn’t affect my GPA too much. Now starts the fun.

Relieved

Those have been three crazy days. Those finals were really tough. I’m not sure how well I did but I’m relieved it’s over. Now I can relax since I only have one test next week. I think I might head for Pacific beach this weekend and just kick it. I can’t believe I’m going to Sweden in less than two weeks. I haven’t been home in a year and seeing everyone again is going to be a lot of fun. I can’t wait.

Two weeks left

Only two weeks left. This semester is racing by really quickly. Oddly enough, though, is the fact that I’m taking most of my finals this week. That means this week is going to be very crazy. Here is what it looks like

Monday- One final in my history of film classics class. The class is pretty easy and I did really well on the last test. I’m not too worried about this class.

Tuesday- One final in my Film Audio class. This is scary. I only got a B on the midterm. I’m really worried about this test and will probably stay up all night tonight to study.

Wednesday- One final for my international cinema class. The last test was pretty tough but I managed to score a hundred percent on it. I think I’ll do pretty good on it though

This is going to be really stressful, but at least next week is going to be really easy.
